End of Season?

After the national holiday last thursday we had a sudden change of weather. It's now really autumnal - mostly cloudy, stormy and rather cold. I think the season of the outdoor areas of the cafés and restaurants will soon be over...

It's About the Colours

As you may already know, I never can resist taking photos of bright coloured chairs. In this photo I also love the blankets and the striped awning.

Enjoying a Warm Autumn Afternoon

During the first two weeks of September the weather was still summerlike, but then the temperature dropped considerably overnight and it felt pretty much like in November. Yesterday afternoon it was rather warm and sunny again and the outdoor areas of the cafés and restaurants were much frequented.

One of my Favourite Places

My favourite part of Praterstraße in the 2nd district seen through a lomo filter. As I love tables and chairs as well as bicycles, this seems a rather perfect photo to me ;-)

Sunny Day

Last Saturday we were blessed with sunshine and blue sky, so I took a short walk before running errands. I passed by my favourite part of Praterstraße in the second district. The statue in front of this building with the beautiful chic window shutters shows Austrian opera singer, actor and playwright Johann Nestroy.

My Favourite Part of Leopoldstadt

Let´s start the new year with a photo of a part of my favourite square in the second district (Leopoldstadt). It is located at the quiet part of Praterstraße next to the Danube Canal and has a very special (Parisian) atmosphere. The statue shows Austrian opera singer, actor and playwright Johann Nestroy. For more photos of this square please click here, here and here.

Vintage Mannequin

I love vintage mannequins and therefore was very happy to discover this one some days ago in the window of a  fashion store in the second district. It´s not the first time that I´ve photographed this mannequin, you can find more photos here, here and here.

Window Shutters

I love this building, located on my favourite square in the second district, because of its - for Vienna - rather unusual window shutters.

Closed on Sundays

My favourite square in the second district is not very spectacular, but to my mind it has a very Parisian atmosphere. Recently it was innervated by the opening of two restaurants (neither of them is French). Yesterday I went there to take a picture of people enjoying their dinner on the square but both restaurants were closed. So here you have only the chairs and benches of one of them...

Evening Stroll

After having worked long hours, I love to take a walk in order to unwind. Recently I went along a quiet part of Praterstraße, where this little square is located. In the background you can see the statue of Nestroy which I showed you some days ago.
