Spring is Coming

The up and down of the temperature continues. Yesterday it was unusually hot (I saw the first people in bathing suits), over the night the temperature dropped considerably. In the shop window of the department store "Gerngroß" spring and the time for gardening have already arrived.

Waiting for Spring...

Winter was rather mild, except for some chilly days, nonetheless I'm now impatiently waiting for spring. Currently only the window displays are springlike...

Salon Français

This past weekend we had a drop of temperature, yesterday I had to dig out one of my old winter jackets and still was cold. Maybe a French winter jacket would be a better idea? The department store "Steffl" in the city center currently presents 40 French brands in the "Salon français" event.

Surfing

The current window display of the department store Steffl was developed in cooperation with the 21er Haus – Museum of Contemporary Art. Austrian artist Hans Weigand presents highlights of his installation “Surfing” which is currently shown in an exhibition at the 21er Haus. As you can see from the stickers on the surfboards, sale has already started...

The Music Goes on

After an exciting week the 60th Eurovision Song Contest ended on Saturday with the spectacular grand final. Sweden won the music competition (click here for the video of the performance), Austria got disappointing 0 points... Although this event is over, Vienna is still a city of music, even the mannequins in the windows of the department store Steffl play instruments...

Gods and Nymphs of the Forest

The department store "Steffl" regularly invites young designers/artists to create fancy shop windows: This time, multiple award-winning, Austrian hairstylist Alex Moser realized extensive avant-garde hairpieces in shapes of flora and fauna. The title of the installation is "Gods and nymphs of the forest".

I thought I showed you the current window display of the department store "Steffl" last Friday, but the day before yesterday I had to notice that it was updated and is now dedicated to the recently started summer sale season.

Art Nouveau 2014

The department store "Steffl" consistently invites young designers to create artistic shop windows: Otto Girsch created several rooms in the windows that display key elements of his modern interpretation of the typical Viennese Art Nouveau style.

Christmas Circus

The Christmas windows of the department store Steffl in the city center are inspired by the  theme "circus".

Organic Renaissance of Art Nouveau

Balloon Heads

The department store "Steffl" in the city center recently started the series "Art meets Fashion" and presented these balloon heads, created by the young creative duo "Luftfabrik", in its windows.

Spring Fashion

Last week we had a small foretaste of spring, but now it has gotten cold again and the forecasts even talk about snow within the next few days. But soon (I hope!) we will be able to wear the new spring fashion.

2012 Christmas Decoration #3

"A Christmas fairy tale" - that´s the title of the windows of the department store Steffl in the city center. The decoration was designed by the French graphic artist Benjamin Lacombe.

New Collections

It still feels like midsummer but the new collections have already arrived to the stores and the shop windows... Is it only me who doesn´t want to see what we will wear in some weeks?

Sale has already started some weeks ago, but one can still find a lot of special offers. In this window the bright colours and the white "accessories" caught my eyes.
