Guitar Session
Unfortunately I don't play any instrument, but it must be really nice to meet a friend and play music while sitting in the grass on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Enjoying the sun
In Austria there are no exit restrictions any more since May 1st. It's now again possible to meet friends in public but the minimum distance of 1m to persons with whom one does not live in the same household must still be observed. On Sunday afternoon a lot of people enjoyed the sunny weather along the Danube Canal. The people in this photo adhered to the rules of social distancing. Some days ago I met a friend for a walk and I have to admit that it felt strange for me to always keep a distance to him.

Life is Beautiful
Let's start the week in a positive way, although with the current pandemia, the accompanying restrictions and the "new normality" (as our Federal Chancellor loves to put it) it's sometimes hard to consider life as beautiful. But I hope you can find at least one little something every day that makes you forget the present situation. The Beach Club in this photo, located on the banks of the Danube Canal, has definitely seen already better days...

Keep Smiling
We started the week with the reminder to not forget to smile and we end it with "keep smiling" by British artist David Shillinglaw along the Danube Canal.

New Haircut #2
In another mural Lushsux also gets the "supreme leader" of North Korea a new haircut. Does this hair-do seem familiar to you or maybe recall someone?

New Haircut #1
The works of Australian artist Lushsux are often provocative, confrontational and comical. They offer shameless commentary on topics as well as prominent figures that are trending at this very moment. In this work on the banks of the Danube Canal he gave the current president of the United States of America a new haircut...

People chilling on the banks of the Danube Canal last Tuesday when the weather was still summerlike. With the meteorological start of autumn on September 1st, the weather drastically changed...

Enjoying the Sunshine
This spring the weather is very unsettled. Yesterday it was sunny, but also rainy. In between two showers people enjoyed some sunrays in the cafés on the banks of the Danube Canal.

The Only Way is up
These stairs are part of the SchĂĽtzenhaus on the banks of the Danube Canal. The building was designed by Austrian architect Otto Wagner and erected from 1904 to 1908 as part of a never realised weir system. Today it houses a restaurant.

Afternoon Walk
If you want to, you can walk along the Danube Canal from the very city center to the outskirts. I did so on the last Sunday in October...

A Walk Along the Danube Canal
The other Sunday I took a walk along the Danube Canal. Most of the walls on the banks of the canal are legal graffiti walls where the sprayers can go wild without fear of breaking the law.

November Theme Day: Out of Focus
It's not my photograph that's out of focus but the painting itself that I discovered during a recent walk along the Danube Canal.
