Oh, the joy when you find again a path that you walked several years ago.... It might sound silly but although I have taken a lot of walks in this area since that time, I always took other paths... until last Sunday... The path leads towards Kahlenberg.
The Millenniumtower was completed ten years ago for the coming of the third millennium. Time is really flying! The mountains in the distance are Kahlenberg and Leopoldsberg, popular local recreation areas.
After having left the viewing platform of Kahlenberg, I turned back once again, saw these silhouettes and thought this might be a good photo. I think there's a special atmosphere...
I did my walk on a weekday, therefore only few people were on the viewing platform of Kahlenberg which was very pleasant. On the weekends this spot is usually rather crowded. Unfortunately the view was not so great because of the clouds, but, hey, you can't have everything.
I usually climb Kahlenberg several times a year. Some weeks ago I did it for the first time this year. It was a really nice outing. I hope the next time I do this walk nature will have woken up.
In the vineyards on the slopes of Kahlenberg and Nussberg the snow was still lasting on Sunday... I love this view of the town. How do you like it?
I will never get tired of the view from Kahlenberg.
During the weekends with fine weather the viewing platform on top of the Kahlenberg is usually crowded because everyone wants to enjoy the beautiful view of the town. Fortunately on Easter Monday there were not too many people.
Do you recognize this bench? You have already seen it in October 2017 and in January this year. I pass it eyery time I climb Kahlenberg and always think it's a good subject for a photo. Which version do you prefer?

Sunday was the first day of the current cold spell. We had -5°C (-41°F), and I met hardly anybody while climbing the Kahlenberg, BUT I saw two or three cyclists. I love cycling, but not during winter. I admire all sportspeople who don't let themselves stop from the chilliness!
Last October I took a photo of a couple sitting on this bench and enjoying the view of the town here. On the first day of 2018 nobody sat here...
The view from the top of Kahlenberg is beautiful, you see really a great part of the town. By the way, I don't know this girl, I just wanted to have her in my photo...
When you have reached the panorama terrace on top of the Kahlenberg the city lies at your feet...

The small Kahlenberg Cemetery is located on the southern hillside of Kahlenberg. It was inaugurated in December 1783 and consists of a handful of funerary monuments mainly from the Biedermeier period. The Resurrectionist Congregation still buries their friars here.
After arriving on top of the Kahlenberg the promenaders can enjoy a gorgeous view of the town.
Climbing the Kahlenberg last Sunday, I walked along the grapevines for a while.
