Currently I'm especially happy to live next to the Danube because this means that I can take a walk by the water whenever I want to. Even if public transport is still working, we should use it only for unavoidable rides (i.e. going to work or the aid of other people in urgent need). On Wednesday evening I took a short walk on the Danube Island and enjoyed the sunset. The building in the background is the Millennium Tower, which to me still seems new although it has been completed in 1999.
Lucky seagulls! They still can gather and continue their normal life. We are allowed to go for a walk, but only in urgent cases (what does this mean?) and alone or with our housemate(s) and with a distance of at least 1m to other individuals... The modern building you see in this photo is the Millenniumtower and the small mountain in the background is Leopoldsberg, normally a popular destination for walks.
The Millenniumtower was completed ten years ago for the coming of the third millennium. Time is really flying! The mountains in the distance are Kahlenberg and Leopoldsberg, popular local recreation areas.

Yesterday evening I finally made the first bicycle tour of this season on the Danube Island. This was one of my views: the Millennium Tower and the setting sun. For me this view means summer because I never go to Danube Island during the cold season.
As I didn't take any spectacular photo last year, it was hard to choose the "photo of the year", but I finally opted for this sunset because it was one of the first of many sunset photos that I took last summer (I was literally obsessed with sunsets) and it reminds me of the bicycle tours that I use to take on summer evenings.

I was away for some days, but now I´m back to normal, and so I took a ride on my bicylce on the Danube Island as I always do on a sunny summer evening.
