A Walk Along the Danube Canal

The other Sunday I took a walk along the Danube Canal. Most of the walls on the banks of the canal are legal graffiti walls where the sprayers can go wild without fear of breaking the law.

Some time ago I showed you a first photo of the project "Central Art Station": The Austrian Federal Railways asked some street artists to spray their works onto the temporary walls that cover the construction area at the new central railway station. New Graffito

I love street art, but in Vienna it's hard to see good one. This new graffito on the banks of the Danube Canal recently caught my eyes.

Central Art Station

How to make the covers of a construction area more beautiful? By asking street artists to spray their works onto the temporary walls as did the Austrian Federal Railways. The project is called "Central Art Station". The work in this photo was created by Mexican born graffiti artist Stinkfish and graces the foyer of the new central railway station until the end of May.

The Frog on The Wall

On the banks of the Danube Canal there are some walls where graffiti artists are officially allowed to spray their works. To be honest, most of them aren't really worth seeing, but this frog stood out. Please click here for another frog graffito from last year.

Banana Graffito

The spray-painted banana of German artist Thomas Baumgärtel (*1960) marks out interesting art locations all over the world. Baumgärtel started this project in 1986 and since then the art-banana has become a seal of quality and the nonofficial logo of the arts scene. I discovered this banana near a gallery in the city center.

No Means No

I discovered this statement on a building in the city center. I have no idea to which incident it may refer or if it´s just a general declaration. Anyway, it´s a very strong message.
