For nature, it is a time of sowing, of scattering abroad." - Edwin Way Teale

So Much Art
Yesterday I was at the opening of the viennacontemporary art fair which unites art from the East and the West. More than 100 galleries and institutions from 23 countries gather under one roof and represent emerging and iconic artists. The art fair ends on Sunday, September 30. Unfortunately I didn't note who did the paintings in the photo.

Dramatic Sky
During my walk along the Old Danube on Sunday at some point the sun appeared for about half an hour and afterwards the sky looked like this.

Beginning of Autumn
Yesterday was the first day of autumn and the weather mostly corresponded to the new season. Not really knowing how to spend the afternoon I ended up at the Old Danube once again...

Ars Electronica #2
In Monitor Man, Yassine Khaled creates an embodiment of virtual communication in public space. The artist wears a helmet affixed with an iPad which offers a real-time connection to a person outside of Europe and the Western world. Through the use of technology and his own body, Khaled uses the performance to transgress actual, national borders which separate people. The performance is an opportunity for people to meet with someone who is physically far away and restricted in their freedom of movement. Pleace click here for a video.

Ars Electronica #1
Last weekend the Ars Electronica Festival, a festival for art, technology and society, took place in Linz. The festival premiered in September 1979, but only this year I had the opportunity to see some of its exhibitions. This year's theme of the festival was "Error - The Art of Imperfection". One of my favourite exhibits was "SEER", a simulative emotional expression robot by Takayuki Todo. The robot is attached to a camera censor and imitates the facial expressions of the viewer. Please click here for more information and a video.

Railway Station
On Saturday I did a day trip to Linz, the third-largest city of Austria. I took this photo of the Praterstern railway station out of the train shortly before the departure.

Taking a Break
During the summer months I usually spend most of my evenings riding my bicycle. This year the bicycle season started already at the end of April and I enjoyed my bicylcle tours more than ever before - still I had to take a break once in a while...

Keith Haring Stairs
I'm back! The break of the last few months wasn't planned, it was a consequence of a lack of time, photos and inspiration. I hope that now I can get back to the old rhythm...
The Albertina museum uses to cover the external staircase with artworks to promote its exhibitions. From March to June the museum dedicated a comprehensive exhibition to American artist Keith Haring who would have turned 60 this year.
