Belvedere´s Chamber Garden
In the early 18th century, Prince Eugene of Savoy had the Belvedere’s Chamber Gardens designed as his privy garden. Situated alongside the Orangery’s south front, adjacent to the military commander’s residential wing, the Chamber Gardens, with their magnificent Baroque layout, represent a gem within the Belvedere Gardens, showing the warlord’s love for gardening: the ground level’s variegated design, garden ponds, pergolas, and pavilions met his wish for intimacy and feudal splendour. The gardens have been revitalized in the 1990s.

The House Of The Chasing Lady
The other day I told you that some time ago a lady was chasing me after I had taken a photo of her mansion. So here is it is: the house of the chasing lady. Isn´t it worth being photographed? If you take a close look at the photograph you can see her under the balcony...

High-Weel Bicycle
On the day before yesterday´s World Car-Free Day people could try to ride some very interesting bicycles on Ringstraße. This girl opted for a high-weel bicycle - and believe me this was the most conventional bicycle that was available.

Car-Free Day
Yesterday was World Car-Free Day, an event that shall convince people to use public transport, bikes and the own feet more often instead of going by car for environmental and health reasons. In the afternoon and evening a part of the Ringstraße, the circular road surrounding the inner city, was blocked for cars and turned into a big grassland where people could picnick, relax, play...

Beautiful Mansion
I´m living on a very busy road, therefore I love to take a walk in the quiet streets of the outskirts and admire all the beautiful mansions. But you have to be careful: Some months ago, after I had taken a photo of a villa, the landlady was running after me to ask me why I was photographing her mansion. She looked at me rather incredulous when I told her that I just liked her mansion. I guess she thought that I was spying on her property...

He´s Still There
I discovered this bull for the first time in April (click here for the photo). Recently I passed again by this house and noticed that he´s still there. This time the blue door also caught my eyes (I´m a big fan of blue doors).

The Bakery That Doesn´t Exist Anymore
I wanted to publish this photo for months, now there´s a sad reason to finally do it: This small bakery in the 19th district, a spin-off of a restaurant in the city center, was closed some days ago. I have been there only a few times, because it was far away from my apartment, but I loved the white furnishing, the stuff was very nice and the sweets were delicious. I hope they´ll soon open another bakery in a more central location.

Beach Chairs
Usually you see these kind of roofed wicker beach chairs on the German coasts of the North and the Baltic Sea, but these are located on the Donauinsel next to a café. I drove past this place with my bicyle countless times but never stopped although these chairs look very inviting.

Fancy Creature
I discovered this interesting creature (A buddhist angel-mermaid?) on the banks of the Danube Canal, on a wall where graffiti artists are officially allowed to spray their works of art.

Deck Chairs
Deck chairs in front of the Design Hotel Le Méridien waiting for someone who curls up and, after a busy working week, enjoys the late summer evening, maybe with a cocktail or two...

Donauturm
The 252m high Donauturm, one of Vienna´s landmarks, was opened in April 1964 on the occasion of the Vienna International Garden Show. Two high-speed elevators transport passengers to the tower´s observation deck at 150m which also bears a bungee-jumping site. Two rotating restaurants (at 160m and 170m) offer a beautiful view of the city and its environs.

Pink & Yellow
I know I´m repeating myself, but I love bright colours and these kind of tables and chairs. They are located in front of the frozen yogurt store in the city center where I became a regular this summer.

New Waves
The Verbund Building in the city center was originally built in the postwar period, during the recent renovation it has been decorated with waved stainless steel elements.

Walking The Dog
Maybe this dog is lazy, maybe he has some serious health problems and can´t walk anymore or for a long time... Either way, his mistress is taking good care for him walking him in a dog stroller.

Ice-cream Parlour
At this time of the year you don´t know how long the warm weather will last, so you have to make the most of it and maybe treat yourself to a last cup of ice cream.

Millennium Tower
The Millennium Tower is a 171m high commercial and residential building on the banks of the Danube, designed by the architects Gustav Peichl, Boris Podrecca and Rudolf Weber. The tower is the focal point of the complex "Millennium City" and was completed in 1999 for the coming of the third millennium.

Riverboats
The Danube River is Europe´s second longest river (2860 km), it originates in the Black Forest in Germany and, after passing through four Central and Eastern European capitals (Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Belgrade), emptys into the Black Sea. There are a lot of riverboats that travel the river, in Vienna they stop right next to the Reichsbrücke.
