The Karl Marx Hof is one of Vienna's best-known public housing complexes. The edifice was designed by Karl Ehn for a population of about 5.000 and built between 1927 and 1929. The complex held not only 1.382 apartments with a size of 30-60m² each, but also laundromats, baths, kindergartens, a library, doctor offices and business offices.
It looks quite distinctive.
