The Deutschordenshaus is the seat of the Teutonic Order, a German-based Roman Catholic religious order formed at the end of the 12th century. It is located in the very city center, and on the ground floor there's the beautiful sala terrena, currently used as concert hall. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart gave here concerts for the Viennese aristocray, some of his concerts even premiered at this very place.
The monument to Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) in Burggarten is one of Vienna's most photographed sights. It was accomplished by Austrian sculptor Viktor Tilgner and erected in 1896, originally on Albertinaplatz, but transferred to Burggarten in 1953. As you can see there are currently a lot of tourists in Vienna.
Franz I Stephan, the husband of Empress Maria Theresia, instigated the building of the Schönbrunn orangery (the building behind the fountain in this photo) in 1754. It is one of the two largest Baroque orangeries in the world, the other being at Versailles. The orangery served not only as the winter quarters for citrus trees and other potted plants but was also a winter garden used for imperial court festivities. During a winter festivity in 1786 Mozart conducted his Singspiel "The Impresario" here.
Domgasse 5 is the only one of Mozart’s apartments in Vienna that still exists
today. The composer lived in Mozarthaus Vienna from 1784 to 1787 in grand style. The life and works of this musical genius are presented in and around this
apartment on four exhibition levels. In addition to the historical Mozart
apartment visitors can find out about the times in which Mozart lived and his
most important works. The exhibition focuses on his years in Vienna, which
marked a high point in his creativity. Mozarthaus Vienna also houses a shop, a concert hall and a learning center.
