"Sepember: it was the most beautiful of words, he'd always felt,
evoking orange-flowers, swallows, and regret." - Alexander Theroux

Sunday Flowers #242
Flowers have spoken to me more than I can tell in written words. They are the hieroglyphics of angels, loved by all men for the beauty of their character, though few can decipher even fragments of their meaning. - Lydia M. Child

You know that I have this thing for tables and chairs... So you will certainly understand that I just couldn't ignore these in the Kagran School Gardens ;-)

Looks (nearly) like chez Monet
The other day I was at the Kagran School Gardens. They serve as training facility for the students of the Vocational School for Horticulture and Floristry. Usually the gardens are open to the public only once a month, but in July and August they can be visited from Monday to Wednesday. They are a very quiet place and a real insider tip, I love to go there once every summer. There are several theme gardens, my favourite one is the one inspired by Claude Monet's garden in Giverny.

A Glimpse of Greece
Looking through a window inside the Greek garden in the Kagran School Gardens... I love the fresh blue of the window frame, tables and chairs.

Monday Blue(s)
I still don't know why I have this thing with tables and chairs... But this arrangement in the Kagran School Gardens was just too eye-catching to be ignored...

Vintage Signs #1
I love vintage signs like this one in the Kagran School Gardens. It reminds dog owners to put a leash on their dog.

Old Pavilion
We continue our stroll through the Kagran School Gardens: This pavilion was originally set up for the 1873 World Exhibition in Vienna. It combines original parts and newly made wooden elements,
giving an impression of what the pavilion must have looked like when it was
first on display.

Idyllic Place
There are several theme gardens at the Kagran School Gardens. I have already shown you the Asian, and the Greek garden and here's now the Claude Monet garden, inspired by the painter's beautiful garden in Giverny, France.

Flora & Vertumnus
We are back to the Kagran School Gardens where you can also find this mosaic of Flora, the goddess of flowers, and Vertumnus, the god of gardens, executed in 1960 by Austrian artist Maître Leherb (1933-1997).

Looks Like in Asia
This small garden with Asian elements is a part of the Kagran School Gardens. They are located around the Vocational School for Horticulture and Floristry and serve as a training facility for the students. Usually the gardens are open to the public only once a month, but in July and August they can be visited from Monday to Wednesday. It's really nice to take a walk in this peaceful place.

Blue Door
I love blue doors, but unfortunately in Austria most doors are painted brown or grey or in similar dark colours. Guess how glad I was when I discvored this blue door in the Greek garden at the Kagran School Gardens!
