They Have Seen Better Days...
On Friday afternoon it snowed, on Saturday the rain washed away the snow - at least in the inner city. In the outskirts yesterday there was still some snow. In Heiligenstädter Park I discovered this family of snowmen in a rather sorry state...

Monument to Beethoven
This monument to Ludwig van Beethoven is located in the Heiligenstädter Park in the 19th district, it was erected in 1910. Beethoven lived for some while in Heiligenstadt, at that time situated outside the city limits, and wrote there the "Heiligenstädter Testament" (1802) - the letter to his two brothers which he never sent and in which he expressed his despair over his advancing deafness.
