A New Obsession?

Is there a new obsession showing up? I discovered these bright coloured chairs last Sunday and I just had to photograph them. Slowly but surely I'm running out of time for more photos of chairs, as in Vienna the cafés and restaurants are legally obligated to close their outdoor areas every year at the end of November.

Parallel Vienna 2015

On Saturday afternoon I attended the Parallel Vienna. This art festival presented the works of more than 400 young and aspiring as well as established national and international artists. I have to admit that I didn't quite understand most of the "artworks"...

Chairs in The Rain

We started this week with chairs, and we end it with chairs. The sober colours correspond to the current bad weather...

Crazy Shoes

I was a little disappointed by the artworks at the viennacontemporary art fair, and even the people were less colourful than expected. One gallerist at least wore these crazy, eye-catching shoes.

Offices With a View

Offices with balconies in the "Viertel Zwei" area in the 2nd district. I'm not sure if I would love to work in one of the offices. It must be hard to sit at your desk on a sunny day if there's a balcony where you could enjoy the good weather...

One of my Favourite Places

My favourite part of Praterstraße in the 2nd district seen through a lomo filter. As I love tables and chairs as well as bicycles, this seems a rather perfect photo to me ;-)

Sunday Flowers #166

A beautiful wooden veranda in the 5th district... The days to enjoy the open veranda will be numbered due to the upcoming autumn...

Coming Soon...

I recently fell in love with this bow on the cover of a small building lot in the city center. There were no indications of which kind of shop will be opened soon...

Look Who's Watching

He's watching everything that goes on in the street and who's driving in and out of the garage...  He seems to take his "job" seriously...

Courtyard of the Teutonic Order #7

The Deutschordenshaus in the city center is the seat of the Teutonic Order, a German-based Roman Catholic religious order formed at the end of the 12th century. I love the building for its quiet courtyard and its "pawlatschen", the wooden gallery that runs in the atrium outside the building, facing the courtyard.

Greened up Passage

As you may already know, I love courtyards and passages. The other day I took a short walk in the 5th district and rediscovered this passage. There's a café behind the windows on the right side and in the courtyard. It is a long time since I have been sitting there with a friend of mine...

Sunset Obsession #22

The sunset over the Old Danube more than two weeks ago... I'm watching this photo with melancholy because it reminds me of my summer holidays - they seem already so far away...

A Glimpse of Greece

Looking through a window inside the Greek garden in the Kagran School Gardens... I love the fresh blue of the window frame, tables and chairs.

My Aunt's Allotment Garden

Last Saturday I was invited to a party in my aunt's allotment garden in the 19th district. As it was too cold and rainy to sit outside, we had to party inside this small house.

September Theme Day: Curiosities

This ball-shaped building - "Kugelmugel" - is located in the Prater in the 2nd district. It was created by artist Edwin Lipburger in 1971 and originally was located in Lower Austria. In 1984 the "Republic of Kugelmugel" declared independence, Lipburger refused to pay taxes to the Austrian government and began to print his own stamps, for which he received a prison sentence in court. Only a pardon by the Austrian President saved him from going to jail. Austrian state officials relocated the structure to the Prater park and surrounded it with barbed wire fencing.
